Candidate sites shortlisted for night-handoff testing across Chile, Hawaii and Europe
Candidate observing sites were selected to keep the simulation in night conditions across the 24-hour handoff sequence.
The simulator now models a 24-hour handoff across observatory regions so the primary visual demonstration can remain tied to nighttime observing conditions.
The current sequence includes Hawaii, China, India, Central Asia, Europe, Chile and North America, with each location using a generated sky field and precomputed satellite tracks.
